It’s Later Than I Thunk
Here are some banners. The first two are from Abel Gance’s swan song, THE BATTLE OF AUSTERLITZ.
Next up, Fritz Lang’s penultimate opus, THE INDIAN TOMB. It’s time, once again, for THE LATE SHOW: The Late Movies Blogathon. And I am asking you, yes YOU! to get involved and write something about a filmmaker or star’s last or near-last work.
John Cromwell’s THE GODDESS follows. Not his very last, but his last Hollywood film as director, and subject of a piece which prompted some valuable reflections from the director’s son.
And finally, MIRACLES FOR SALE, Tod Browning’s delightful final entry, which Fiona, my good lady wife, wrote up last year.
Consider yourselves nudged! David E, Phoebe, Matthew, Brandon, Gareth, the lovely strange Joseph Breen fans, all of you! I hope to hear from you soon.

Whoah! A little early — but excellent! Remind me to RE-link to it when the blogathon commences.
Everyone else — that’s how it’s done!

I’m thinking up something now, though I’m wondering if I can interpret “late” very broadly indeed on this occasion? I think watching some late films that disappointed me against the backdrop of the overall oeuvre may have taken its toll!!!

Sure, make it work for you. Or else pick a sure-fire winner, one of the few late movies that’s already appreciated and known to be good. I don’t think anybody’s done The Dead, for instance.

I’m somewhat of a newcomer here, so I haven’t had a chance to see this blogathon before. I love this idea, and I’d love to throw in my 2 cents come 12/1…

Please do! I think I just recruited a couple more contributors…
