It’s not that uncommon for animated films to use animals instead of people — some movies anthropomorphize wildlife and pets, like THE ARISTOCATS and 101 DALMATIONS, but others go in the other direction, like the Disney ROBIN HOOD that changes the familiar characters into animals for no readily explicable reason.
