Oh Hell! That was a great clip of Ronnie in his last film, Don Siegel’s “The Killers” (1964) in which he plays a murderous mobster, killed in the last reel by Lee marvin. In the clip that has been take down he whomps Angie Dickinson upside the head/
Reagan later said making the film was a mistake – not because it wasn’t a good movie or a good role, but I think because he realised playing a bad guy wasn’t good for his political image.
In 1955 Reagan was one of the hosts for the live televised opening of Disneyland, joining Bob Cummings and daytime TV icon Art Linkletter (responsible for Kids Saying the Darnedest Things). My earliest memory of Reagan was as the host of Death Valley Days, a western anthology showed sponsored by 20 Mule Team Borax.
Contrary to vague recollection, he was never a talking robot at Disney World. When he was added Lincoln had the only speaking part; having sitting presidents speak (with their real voices) began with Clinton.

Well he took the role as a favor toLew Wasserman.
As for his image in “Dark Victory” (see clip above) he played a gay society barfly
