…and that’s not all…

  1. “Noted Movie Dog” is superb.

  2. Yeah, pretty sure I’ve used the noted dog before, but he was too good to miss here.

The old Rocky and Bullwinkle show would open with the announcer trumpeting “starring that supersonic speedster, Rocket J. Squirrel and his pal, Bullwinkle the Moose”, then sotto voce-ing “and a host of others” as Boris Badanov appeared.

As a child unaware the word “host” could refer to a multitude, I took it to mean Badanov was officially the show’s host for an alternate audience of “others” that rooted for the villain.

I also believed there was some social component to being a “special guest star”, like said actor being a personal friend of the regular cast and/or staying for dinner after the shoot. And that the “Big Co-Hit” on a double feature indicated an actual partnership between the films’ makers.

At least on Touch of Evil Russ Metty cooked up spaghetti for everyone. Assume Mercedes McCambridge and Zsa Zsa and Marlene joined the feast.
