    Not a true Zorro — It’s set in Idaho in the 1880s, the hero is called The Black Whip and I don’t think Zorro is mentioned outside of the title. The hero’s last name is Meredith, which doesn’t shout Spanish ancestry.

    Anyway, the black-clad masked hero fights outlaws and … gets killed in the first episode. So his sister (Linda Sterling) takes over as The Black Whip and nobody notices the difference. Yes, there’s a manly cowboy to handle the fistfights but Linda is pretty darn good with that whip.

  2. I guess Zorro is an idea rather than a person, arising spontaneously when needed.
