What a great final film! At least the old boy went out in style.

It’s a nice quiet movie about death, family and love. It marks a return to The Trouble With Harry‘s satire and good cheer about unpleasant topics. Formally it’s quite interesting with the parallel stories of two different couples on the opposite ends of the social scale but both being crooks, one of a minor and harmless nature, the other not really at all.

A friend of mine is in tocuh with Barbara Harris in Scotsdale Arizona. Not sure if she has access to a computer but I’ll pass on a link to this discussion.

Please do! Alas, she’s the only party absent from the DVD extra documentary, but she was Hitch’s darling.

She said everyone was excited/intimidated by the prospect of working for Hitchcock. But on the first day he walked right up to her, put his arms around her and whispered in her ear “I’m scared to death!”

Aw!
Reminds me of Billy Wilder phoning Lubitsch: “Tomorrow I start my first film und I vill shit my pants!”
“Listen, I have made seventy films und I STILL shit my pants!”
