The Big Hat

Bob Baker’s ten-gallon hat goes up to eleven.
From BORDER WOLVES, a singing cowboy film directed by Joseph H Lewis…

those old B-westerns can become addictive if your not careful!..I like the Idea of the troubador roaming the west in his fancy clothes..Almost always he’ll venture out onto the highway and nearly get run over by some hot rodding city dame.or worse, get his clothes dirty by the car splashing mud up on him

“His famous horse TARZAN” makes me laugh. First, because his horse is king of the apes. Second, because his horse is famous, and apparently he isn’t!
Smiley’s hat is extraordinarily voluminous. And the poor little head trembling under the weight of it!

Speaking of westerns, one of my favourite films is George Marshall’s wonderful Destry Rides Again.

Yes — especially for the sight of Mischa Auer in a western.
Seven Sinners, reuniting Auer and Dietrich, is surprisingly fun.
I mailed your stuff yesterday!
