Reg Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut

On the sub-topic of beautiful backs, regular Shadowplayer alerted me to this image of peplum strongman Reg Park, a “Bava-esque back” as he puts it, adding “I wouldn’t doubt, however, that Park’s posterior is in much the same shape as Kristel’s.” I don’t know, a canvas chair seems less disfiguring than cane or wicker. Maybe he means because Park is dead? RIP, RP.

At any rate, Reg-as-pictured certainly seems capable of towing a tractor / tossing a caber / snapping me like a twig, any of which could have erotic possibilities, I guess.

“I got a strong back and a weak mind.” ~ Robert Mitchum in THE LUSTY MEN.

Thanks to Chris, “whose adolescence was marked decisively by a double-bill of Bava’s HERCULES IN THE HAUNTED WORLD and Margheriti’s DANZA MACABRA.”

One Response to “Reg Park: Bigger, Longer and Uncut”

  1. Bava’s Hercules in the Haunted World is scarcely chopped liver but Vittorio Cottafavi’s Hercules Conquers Atlantis (also with the great Reg Park) is an ABSOLUTE MASTERPIECE — as any Mac-Mahonist will tell you.
