Hot Poop
Probably the most exciting information revealed at the Ray Harryhausen In Person event, which was generally very exciting for all concerned (Harryhausen is that rarity, an affable living legend) was the explanation from Mr. H. about how the sound effect for the spacecraft in EARTH VERSUS THE FLYING SAUCERS was achieved.

Apparently the crew were filming at the Redondo Sewage Works, and Harryhausen’s regular producer, Charles Schneer noticed that the giant pipes made a fascinating sound as they siphoned away the city’s effluent. So he recorded it.
“Many citizens helped out with this production…unknowingly,” remarks Ray.

This here is the 60th anniversary of The Beast from 20’000 Fathoms. The film started off as a tribute film but will now be dedicated to Ray Harryhausen who passed away this year. This was a movie that preceded Godzilla and in fact inspired Godzilla so The Beast is going to take on Godzilla 1954. I will put a link to a blooper real that did not work out right of the beast. The rest of the film although not finished will be showed at G-fest. this year.
