The soundtrack is quite diverse and very evocative.

Maybe the solution to the puzzle of Gilderoy’s being hired to mix a giallo is that it’s all happening in his head?

I have occasionally posted pics 0f myself and will do again.Especially to immortalize my appearance in evening dress. But I didn’t shush anyone this year, the most I resorted to was a quizzical look.

How was the soundtrack to BERBERIAN SOUND STUDIO ? I believe James Cargill of Broadcast was supposed to be writing it. Though looking at IMDb I can’t see his name.

I’m by no means a giallo fan but I enjoyed Katalin Varga (even though, like so many spunky heroines, she got killed off in the end) so I got a ticket for Berberian Sound Studio and found it had a bit too much of a subtle timbre for me. I couldn’t figure out what was supposed to be going on in Toby Jones’s head. Nor why a sound mixer whose only work to date was a documentary on the natural history of Surrey should find himself summoned to Italy.

Maybe I was just in a bad mood because of the behaviour of some people in the audience – fidgeting, talking, and texting (and at the EIFF, my dear!). Although the texting stopped when the guy next to me told the offender to “Either switch the bloody thing off or leave!”

David, do you think you might post a photo of yourself one day? Maybe the guy sat next to me was you.
