The fairytale atmosphere mixed with cold blooded ultraviolence is like pretty much nothing else. I love Rolling Thunder to distraction too.

John Flynn’s The Outfit is very good indeed, I’m keeping my eye out for his other work. Rolling Thunder is an awkward mixture of Schrader’s sophistication and the studio’s dumbness.
