Prime Cut is thoroughly wonderful, if very unsettling (one of the films where it's hard to tell if the underlying misogyny is from the world of the film or of the filmmakers, but given it's Michael Ritchie I'm willing to bet it's the former). The fairytale atmosphere mixed with cold blooded ultraviolence is like pretty much nothing else. I love Rolling Thunder to distraction too.

I must see Prime Cut, i seem to have been missing late night BBC1 screenings of it since I was 12.

John Flynn's The Outfit is very good indeed, I'm keeping my eye out for his other work. Rolling Thunder is an awkward mixture of Schrader's sophistication and the studio's dumbness.
