Shout out

A friend asks: anybody know where copies of Paul/Pal Fejos’ films LONESOME and THE LAST MOMENT might be found? Both films are from 1928.
Fejos was a Hungarian-American film-maker who quit what he saw as the “tedium” of Hollywood in 1931 and upped sticks for Madagascar, where he shot 100,000 feet of film and discovered a new career as anthropologist.
Quite a guy.
Now GET ME THOSE MOVIES!

I never downloaded LONESOME because of the image quality. Check the screenshot:

Can probably get it to you if quality is not an issue.

I think with stuff of this rarity, we’ll take ANYTHING. Please email and I’ll tell you where to send it. I think we should pay you something too.
THANKS!

His Fantomas sounds fascinating.

Bah… payment is for people/companies dealing with non-stolen copies of movies, preferably copies that aren’t all beaten to hell from being video-dubbed too many times.

DE — yes, I’d love to see that. Even those West German Mabuse sequels are enjoyable, so a Fantomas remake literally CAN’T NOT BE GOOD.
B — OK, let me get you an address to send it to. Thanks!

Good to hear that the West German Mabuses are worth watching. I’m always tempted to buy ‘em (3 Mabuse movies for $12) but then I look at all the unwatched discs on my shelf and hold back. Maybe someday.

Tell me about it — I still have stuff from you to watch! GOOD stuff!
