Does anybody know…?

…how to get ahold of a movie called PARIS N’EXISTE PAS (Paris Doesn’t Exist)? Only a fellow called Gonzalo Villar contacted me here asking about it, and it seemed like a decent question to ask. One has to admire any film with the courage to deploy the sleazy charm of Serge Gainsbourg. But apprently the movie, made in 1970, only recently had its first US screening, so a DVD may be some time off…?

It’s the work of late Positif film critic Robert Benayoun, whose “Bonjour Monsieur Lewis” is the definitive exegesis onle roi de crazy.
I’ve always wanted to see it being a Serge-o-phile.
I trust you’re familiar with Serge’s classic TV musical comedy Anna (starring Anna Karina, Jean-Claude Brialy, Serge et avec le participation speciale de Marianne Faithful) as well as his ineffable theatrical feature Je t’aime, moi non plus starring Jane Birkin (naturellement) et Joe Dallesandro.

Je T’aime… is available here so I’m going to check it out, but I haven’t seen any of his films as actor OR director. But I hear good things!

I wish this film were out. I saw a promo book on ebay an the scenes look very mod and stylish–Serge looks hot and very groovy.
I hope it gets released soon.

Well, still haven’t heard anything. Sounds like fun though, the kind of thing that would probably sell quite well too.
